Day Thirteen

George Town and Launceston and Cataract Gorge

A continental breakfast at the resort and we have decided to visit Launceston and Cataract Gorge, that was about 30 minutes down the road. We had done a little research and found a clock shop, a coffee shop/patisserie and plenty of time for a walk around.

The clock shop was there but the coffee shop had closed, so the ladies in a secondhand shop told us where to find a nice coffee shop that had antiques as well. We wandered around town did a little miscellaneous shopping and headed back to the car, Launceston is a very pretty old town with some beautiful buildings renovated and painted up beautifully.

We headed up to Cataract Gorge for lunch and looked around, it is only 10 minutes from central Launceston - very surprising. Lovely drive up there, a walk down to the restaurant and a light lunch, we all wanted to go across the Gorge to the other side by Chairlift, this was great fun and a little frightening at how high we were. It was so much fun we came back across the Gorge the same way.

Headed home and had quiet afternoon and another lovely dinner again at the Peppers Resort restaurant and another early night. The views from the dining room were fantastic and we had lovely evening.
