Day Fouteen

Moving to Swansea

Another continental breakfast and check out of the hotel. My cold is in full swing now, I am miserable...

Joyce's Hotel Rating for Peppers was 10/10, the showers were peculiar and none of us liked them, the only shortfall.

We drove via Bridport to Bicheno, more windy roads and lovely farming lands - very very green grass. We are continually surprised by the brightness of the green grasses all over Tasmania. We went through a little town called Derby, it was so quaint and stopped on time. There did not seem to be a building in town under 100 years old...

Into St Helen's for coffee and the best scones and home made jam I have ever had. Onto Bicheno for lunch - hoping for a lovely crayfish but the town was not what I expected - we found the fish shop but most of the takeaway and restaurants did to sell crayfish. We had a meat pie and lemon squash instead, only 40 minutes to Swansea - our next bed.

Into Swansea town for directions and some food to make dinner, got both at the same shop!! Lovely ladies in the IGA. Found the cottage and bought our bags in, all a little tired and time to sit a bit. The cottage is small but adequate, one bathroom only and 2 queen beds, a open fire place and a carafe of complimentary port, the open fire is already laid and ready to light.

Freycinet Bay is just about visible through the trees. Home made vegetable soup and crunchie bread for dinner tonight. We are all a bit over rich restaurant meals. No photos yet today, if that changes I will repost.

Only 15C outside and the wind has come up.
