Pounding wind and rain in the night!! The night a little restless as we are in new accommodation. We are at the Aloft Boutique Apartments.
Cereal breakfast and down to the MV Jane Franklin II for our Gordon River Cruise - 8:15 on the boat and a lovely strong coffee, I declined champagne that early but others didn't. What can I say about the day
Captains Premier lounge caters for 40 and there was 8, we had wonderful food and good coffee and lovely Tasmanian wines, cheeses with a wonderful crew too.

We had two land trips,
1. Heritage Landing Nature Walk, it was a boardwalk showing the natural thick bush, it was very damp and mossy - beautiful but harsh at the same time. We saw a pine tree with tweeny cones, it only does this once in a lifetime.
2. Sarah Island, it was a penal colony for 10-15 years in the 1820's and 1830's. Some of the statistics were remarkable - boat building and punishments. It is an 8 hectare island and has some falling down buildings, it is very interesting.
We arrived back both very tired from doing nothing but touring and eating. I went to the Huon Pine shop and bought a lovely chopping board with pretty grain, and a little sassafras bowl as my holiday trinkets.

Home for break and Joyce made some lovely vegetable soup for our dinner - yummy.
"Joyce Hotel rating". It got full marks but could do with a little extra crockery and a few simple condiments. The rooms had 2 of everything - it was a little short on. So the numbers are a 9/10 - for above reasons.
I enjoyed Strahan - oldie worldie, saving a unique heritage bush land, wild and treacherous... A hundred more words as well...
