We had a slow start today, breakfast at 9am. Slept with a electric blanketing all night! Lovely.
Needed groceries so we went to the next biggest town nearby called Smithton and it rained the whole time we were out. As soon as we arrived back in Stanley the weather cleared up a little - cloudy but no rain.
Bert, Joyce and I headed off up "The Nut". We decided to walk up as much as we could. There is 3 very steep slopes that go to the top, maybe 40-45 degree angles - we achieved 2 slopes (2/3 of the way up). Coming back down was harder than going up, had to hold the railing all the way down. We came back to the house for lunch - bagette and cheese.

There is a 2km round trip walk on the top of the Nut, a well defined walking path and lovely lookouts. We saw wallabies, birds & lizards up there. No crowds at all.
Home for a breather, oh no - needed to find out where the Penguins come in - Bert and I found the Penguin Highway, behind the cemetery and near the beach so we will venture back and wait near the cemetery later tonight and see what we find.
Had a lovely roast lamb dinner with all the trimmings - thank you Joyce - it was lovely.
I will update here later when we have visited with the Penguins - fingers crossed!!!!!!
