Day 8, Abel Tasman National Park, Boat tour

Up early today, off to breakfast....Had to be on the road by 7:00am so breakfast was a drama we resorted to MacD, yes - sad but true.

Needed to drive to Marahua, about 1:10 hours from Nelson further up the road. Lovely winding road around vineyards and hop orchards.   Had to meet our tour guide at the boat ramp in that town.

Met Stew at the right place and at the nominated time (check out www.abeltasmanecotours.co.nz)

We headed off and had the best tour, stopped at beautiful beaches, found birds on land and on the sea, seals on the shore and playing in the shallows.  Morning tea on a pristine cove, lunch on another beach, they knew when the tide would change so we could walk to the nearest rivers and what to find there.

Had a ball, took some brilliant pictures, but the scenery is so good - it is not hard taking lovely pictures.  Very tired by the time we had over 6 hours on the water, walking the sandy beaches and going up to lookouts for wonderful photo opportunities.

There was a lovely Spanish honeymoon couple with us, and a friend of Stew's who acted as a secondary tour guide really.

Dinner was at home in the our hotel today, we went to the Woolworths and bought salad and chicken and enjoyed sitting in our casual clothes and relax.

Great day, what a lot of information was given to us... Too much to all soak in..
