On the road again today, after a nice hotel breakie and finalising the packing. It took about 1.5 hrs to get to Barcelona airport and drop off the car. We got a taxi from the airport into town to our hotel and just as well, the traffic was busy and taxis have their own lane, and just near the room - he drove over the payment and down a small alley way. I would not have done that as it looked like a pathway, and there is NO parking near here.
Left our bags and went for a walk and caught up with Berts cousin Penny and hubby Dean, they found us down at Las Ramblas and took us to their apartment - they have a very nice 4 bed Spanish home style apartment, on the other side of Las Ramblas to us. Katie, Al and Maya arrived from Germany while we were there.
We came back and checked in, unpacked and David and Pamela arrived. They are here in our building too. Lunch - Ummm - 3:30pm - right next door is a lovely little restaurant so we all went there for a light lunch, and good old chat.
Off to the Supermercat (we are calling them super meerkats) to get a few basic as everyone was coming to us at 5:30pm for drinks on the rooftop.
Freshen up and up we go - we are on the 4th floor so very handy to have 1 flight of stairs only to take stuff up.
It was fantastic seeing everyone, in addition to those we knew were here - Gail and Eamonn arrived from Greece and Karen, Steve and children arrived from Cairo. it was so exciting that everyone is arriving.
More tomorrow and more drinkies too.
