Up at home in Stockton, coffee with friends. Sue arrived so we introduced her to the girls and finished packing and left the house to her.
We headed to Watsons Bay for lunch and arrived about 3pm which was lovely.
We drove to Sydney International Airport and parked up, Air New Zealand was so easy to check in and hand over the luggage. Through immigration (self serve now) and a little duty free shopping, nothing expensive.
We wasted hours in the airport, nothing good to eat but we managed and our flight.... Well that was 5.15 hours only and we both got some sleep. Impressed with Air New Zealand, they even made the safety information video good fun!! Men in Black take off....
Arrived very tired as it was 7:05am Saturday morning, again with a few hours sleep. I have finally been across the International Date line... All my travels I have gone the other way.
Avis were very helpful with our car and we went to the markets for breakfast. Everyone raved about the markets so coffee and .......... waffles..
Bought some fruit and bread and decided we needed to find our little house and we headed clockwise around the island. The buses have "clockwise" or "anti clockwise" on their destinations, no numbers or town names etc.
Our little house was easy to find, and we unpacked and freshened up. Love finding a new place and looking around, finding what we need and making it home. We did.. Lunch was at Trader Jacks one of the well know restaurants on the water, we both had seafood - Bert had yellowfin tuna and I had smoked marlin...
We had a lovely afternoon finding the supermarket, getting in the groceries, then hunting for a coffee on the beachfront. A quick 1 hour nap to revive us till the sun set and we could go to bed.
A walk on the beach (pictures are difficult to load, the internet is very slow), we had a home cooked meal and relaxed. Two Saturdays in a row with only an hour to two sleep is exhausting.
