Up by 6am in Vinaros, Spain - that is the end of our 7 weeks and 49 days of travelling out of a suitcase, and making an adventure of every new town.
David took us to the train, after a sad goodbye with Pam at home. After 3 hours we rolled into Sants Railway Station Barcelona, the train was uneventful - the biggest issue was having no food - we were starving by 10:30am. Outside this huge big station and we needed a taxi for the airport, there was a plenty.
Got got the airport around 11:00am, Emirates Checkin was just opening so we had to wait. After all the check in, we went to the VIP lounge! it was very basic and crowded and no lunch that we would see. Out to the regular area and had MacDonalds - both very hungry so why not?
Through passport control to the next VIP lounge and it was no better than the other one. Boarding in an hour so.
Lovely big seats on the plane with privacy screens and loads of legroom - this is going to be good.
Dinner was lovely, settle down for a nap and Oh No, 4 Arab kids bouncing on chairs and squealing behind us for hours. Normal parental control - NONE. Urrrg
Land in Dubai - ok let's go shopping!!! Check out the flight board and our flight is boarding - really No Way. Best bloody flight connection ever - and I want to run around the shops..... Grrr x 2.
Ok board the next flight - upper deck again!! Nice one, easy to board no long queues, settle down and - you better believe it - more kids right behind us.... Grrrr x 3.
Lovely breakfast, hostie offered everyone ear plugs - guess she knew what was coming.. Bed flat, mattress on, eye shades on, ear plugs in - slept for 8 hours of a 13+ hour flight - heaven. A couple of movies, lunch and snacks and we were in Sydney.
No trouble with baggage or immigration or customs so in the hire car and on our way. Got home to our little house at 1:45am, we were officially travelling for 33 hours - Vinaros, Valencia Spain ........ Stockton, New South Wales, Australia!!!

fantastic trip, saw loads, experienced the cultures and the different regions of Spain. Love being able to go and see it properly, seeing the small streets, the coffee shops, restaurants and how the locals live. Throw in a Castillo or 20, and a cathedral of every shape and size, some elaborate and some very plain.
Open a map and see where the next bed is booked, which way to get there!!! What a great way to travel.
Thank you to Bob and Joyce for their company and understanding (specially in La Rochelle and Jaca) but it has been a pleasure. Thanks to the whole 32 family members that agreed to meet for a week in Barcelona that then gave us this wonderful opportunity to look around such a lovely historically rich country.
Thank you and all my love to Robert (Bert), who came along for the adventure and picked up the pieces, wandered up every road, every set of stairs, into every Castillo, and drove everywhere so we could share this time and make wonderful memories.
