Had another lovely home cooked breakfast before our 45 minute drive to Trujillo, nice short one. Found our hotel - Boutique Hotel del Orellano inside the old city walls, the roads were very narrow and we only took one wrong turn but got there. The owner kindly parked our car and showed us around and brought our luggage up very narrow stone stairs.
it is the ancestral home of the Spanish Conquistador that discovered the Amazon River in South America.
Pictures here are some of the rooms of the quaint and very exception hotel.
We wandered around, had a lovely lunch in the main square "Plaza de Mayor", they gave a whole bottle of white wine at no cost, which was lovely.
Wandered up to he Castillo, and pay our entrance fee of €1.40 ($2.00) and could go wherever we wanted, no barriers and walker beware - nothing to stop you falling or getting on the highest points. Castillo pictures below.
More wandering and a little siesta and had to find dinner. Back to the Plaza de Mayor for anger very nice meal, although a little $$$.
