September 25, Thursday - La Rochelle - Last day in France

Everyone started a little slow this morning but we did get to town for a coffee and croissant before getting the 10:45 boat to Ile de Aix via an old fort in the middle of the bay. It was a very bright, sunny and calm day on the water and very pleasant watching the world go by. We arrived back at La Rochelle around 1pm, which was very very low tide. Bert and Bob looked over the captains shoulder and there was only 1/2 metre of water under the big boat as we came back into harbour!

Lunch at the same place as yesterday and a good walk around to walk off lunch. My handbag strap broke so I bought a lovely blue leather shoulder bag for the Gallerie Lafayette in La Rochelle - very pleased with it.

Had a small nap this arvo and a light dinner and our last round of chocolate eclairs and French sweet cakes.

Pictures to follow tomorrow - everyone is reading books so don't want to disturb them for pictures.

Finally got a camera battery for my camera so should have more pics each day.

Tomorrow we move back to Spain to a town called Jaca - think it is pronounced Chaca - will find out tomorrow.
