September 19, Friday - San Sebastián

Off early to try and get up the lookout where there is a statue of Jesus overlooking the town.

Bert and I got up there via a few stops and landings with some lovely picture opportunities.

The lookout is great, the old fortress walls and narrow stone stairs etc. The walk down was much easier and then wandered though the shops and had coffee.

They don't have lunch till 1:00pm so we went back to the chosen restaurant for 1:00pm - it is right across the road near a lovely fountain and garden. Sat out on the path and had a 2 course lunch with wine and coffee for €12.90 each = $15 and it took us nearly 2 hours to eat.

Home for the Spanish siesta - nap and relax.. About 5:30pm the town woke up and we went out for a nice wander around town, watch the children play, and looked in the windows. I bought a red pair of Birkenstock shoes - 1/2 price compared to Australia... Very nice.. Home for dinner but no one hungry so bread, wine and cheese on the patio watching the pretty people go about their business..

What a great day!!!
