Moving on.....
After a great night sleep in our little cottage, in the middle of the night it was so black when I woke I could not see across the room.... That only happens in the country!
We drove around the lake and took some more photos before heading off to Queenstown via Arrowtown.
Again with the winding roads, up onto the top of mountains, and winding down again through the pass.
We arrived at Arrowtown just in time for morning tea, and a walk around. Bought some boiled sweets in the touristy shop and just wandered through the historical town.
Into Queenstown and straight to the hotel (early check in) no problems. Off into town for lunch and got 'ferg pies' they were fantastic pies - best ever. Then up the hill for the gondola ride up the mountain for the views. Bert was encouraged to try the paragliding off the top of the mountain. He did it!!!!! Yes really and I have evidence....
What a spectacular site, Bob, Joyce and I went down like mere mortals - on the gondola. Into town for a wander around the shops, a nice beer overlooking the water, bought Bob a late fathers day pressie and Bert a pair of gloves.
Back to the hotel for dinner and a relax. The view from our window is magnificent - over the lake to the mountains beyond. Priceless...
best of the day:
Bert : Paragliding which was scary in parts but pleased as it was outside comfort zone, and throughly enjoyed it.
Joyce : Salmon dinner and watching Robert run off a mountain
Bob : sticky date pudding.
